Welcome New UIC Liautaud Students!

Welcome new students to the College of Business Administration and its Liautaud Graduate School of Business. Graduate school is a challenging and important undertaking, and I am glad you have chosen to take this journey with us. We pride ourselves on providing a team-based, entrepreneurial curriculum that will expose you to leaders and executives in Chicago’s business community as well as provide ample real-life projects to add to your portfolio.

This is an especially exciting year for us at the CBA with the opening of our new state-of-the-art building, Douglas Hall. Many of you will have classes this semester in our innovative, adaptable classrooms, but even if you don’t, please make full use of our breakout rooms and learning hubs for your class projects, brainstorming meetings or study sessions. We designed the building around your needs—adaptability, openness and up-to-date technology. I hope you will enjoy your smart new surroundings.

Finally, please remember that your classmates today are your coworkers tomorrow. Reach out and meet your fellow students. Networking is an important part of your education. You are part of a diverse, hard-working cohort of graduate students and I hope you make the most of every opportunity to get to know each other. In a few years, you will be part of the largest business alumni network in Chicago, which will become a valuable resource in your career advancement. Get a head start on that now by getting to know your classmates better.

Again, welcome to the CBA’s Liautaud Graduate School of Business. You have an exciting year ahead of you.
