University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School of Business Assurance of Learning

Each fall and spring semester, the University of Illinois at Chicago participates in the Assurance of Learning Case Study Competition. As mandated by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), accredited business schools encourage students to compete in these case competitions. The performances of the graduate school students are then used to measure the outcomes of what and how effectively students are learning.

On Saturday, January 28, 2012, Douglas Hall: UIC, Liautaud Graduate School of Business administered the 3rd Assurance of Learning. I participated first individually and later as a member of Team “Play It Safe”, winning the prize for the Best Case Study Analysis & Presentation.

What to Expect at the Assurance of Learning Case Study Competition

The Assurance of Learning Case Study Competition tests your analytical, comprehension, problem-solving, written communication and verbal presentation skills. Technical knowledge of finance, accounting and marketing is helpful; however, each group is comprised of roughly four to six team members, reducing the risk that any one team is disadvantaged in knowledge or skill set. All masters-level candidates are eligible to participate.
