Not all B-Schools are Created Equal…

Did you know that less than 5% of the world’s business schools have achieved AACSB accreditation? The process of accreditation involves a process of rigorous internal review and evaluation plus external validation. An AACSB accredited program meets the high standards of quality – in the students they accept, in the faculty who teach, in the subject content of the curriculum, in the teaching techniques they utilize.

UIC is also accredited in accounting by AACSB, making it one of the 171 programs worldwide to receive this honor. To realize accounting accreditation, an institution must satisfy 15 standards specific to the discipline of accounting and show that it delivers a high-quality education that meets the needs of the profession.

From the AACSB website: Today, the AACSB Accreditation Standards are used as the basis to evaluate a business school’s mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions, programs, and other critical areas. AACSB accreditation ensures students that the business school is providing a top-quality education. It also ensures employers that AACSB-accredited business school graduates are ready to perform on day one. Additionally, AACSB accreditation provides many benefits to the faculty and staff at its accredited schools by attracting higher quality students, providing greater research opportunities, and allowing for global recognition.
