New Course! IDS 494 / MGMT 494, HR Analytics Consulting – Fall 2023

IDS, management, and human resource management majors are invited to sign up for a new interdisciplinary course in HR Analytics Consulting. This course will provide a framework to apply analytical skills, HR knowledge, and business competencies gained from your coursework to complex real-world organizational challenges and will be a strong addition to your resume. In this experiential opportunity, students will work in cross-functional teams to complete unique consulting projects with well-known companies such as such as Caterpillar and Lockheed Martin, as well as leading start-ups.

The semester-long project will utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to examine areas of management and HR concerns and will be team taught by experienced IDS and management faculty. Student teams will provide analysis and recommendations that demonstrate mastery of managing human resources and data analytics in a consulting context.  A range of analytic approaches can be applied by students including AI/ML, statistical and other methods. This interdisciplinary consulting project experience will build the collaborative, analytical, and critical thinking skills that employers seek today.
