MBAA and GMARK: Lincoln Park Community Shelter

On Saturday, November 12, the UIC Liautaud MBA Association teamed up with the Graduate Marketing Association and cooked a hearty spaghetti lunch for those at the Lincoln Park Community Center. The team of nine students gathered together in support of not only the LP Community Center but also the newly formed UIC Liautaud Community Action Team. This group consists of a wide variety of students representing the MBAA, GMARK and Net Impact. Throughout the year, students will continue to volunteer at the community shelter as well as Growing Home and The Night Ministry.

While lending a hand in the kitchen and serving food to men and women who are experiencing homelessness, students saw first-hand how valuable volunteering their time can be.  They also learned how the LPCS provides interim housing, meals, and a targeted array of social services to over 300 people each year.
