How Would You Spend One Million Dollars?

Thank you to Graduate Finance Interest Network Member, Abe Berkley-Vigil, for contributing this post.

If you were given a million dollars, how would you spend it?  If you love making money, and you have a competitive fire, then Liautaud Gradute Finance Interest Network’s Investment Challenge is the event for you!

Throughout the month of November participants will have control of their own short term investment portfolio via the site Investopedia. A ten dollar entry fee will provide you access to a virtual portfolio of $1 Million to invest in the public securities markets. Competition will be fierce as portfolio performances will be tracked and ranked. The portfolio with the strongest performance will receive the prize of 20% of the total entry fees. Second place will receive 10% of the total entry fees. Contestants who outperform a GFIN managed portfolio will be entered into a raffle to win a wide variety of prizes such as gift cards and cash. The Challenge began November 1 and ends November 31. Participants can sign up anyttime during November via this site: www.tinyurl.com/GFIN-Portfolio-Challenge.

If the future investors of the world have any questions about this competition, the Vice President of GFIN, Andrew McCoy, will be available to answer all inquiries via email at amccoy3@uic.edu.

Get ready for a month of ups and downs, wins and losses, and the chance to be crowned the best investor at UIC!
