Thank you to Graduate Finance Interest Network Event Chairperson, Landon Kelly, for contributing this post.
Jordan Snow, Research Transportation Planner/Analysts for the Urban Transportation Center at UIC, spent the afternoon of Saturday, October 13th, discussing the future of transportation projects in America and the implications for American taxpayers, with an audience of UIC Liautaud MBA graduate students. Mr. Snow passionately explained the different funding and policy issues facing our current passenger and freight transportation systems, paying special attention to operating costs and the flat rate gas tax. His discussion was a thorough mix of technical information and interesting stories. During the discussion Mr. Snow kept his audience engaged by asking for their thoughts and building off their ideas with interesting real world examples. The students who trudged through the rain on that Saturday afternoon were rewarded with an eye opening discussion that was both informative and thought provoking.
Thank you again to Jordan Snow for his time, expertise, and insight. Also, thank you to GFIN Vice President, Andrew McCoy, who was instrumental in making this event a success.
