Fall into Chicago!

Whether you like it or not, Fall is officially upon us here in Chicago. It’s that time of year – pumpkin spice lattes, scary movies, and mid-terms. Besides working, studying, and going to class, one must make time for extracurricular activities; otherwise, you will be burnt out. Luckily, we live in Chicago, a city with tons of things to do. If you are new to the city, or just not sure what is happening around town, we have made it easy for you with our top things to do in the city this Fall. Enjoy!

• Open House Chicago
  Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, October 18 – The Chicago Architecture Foundation sponsors this free tour of Chicago that offers behind-the-scenes access to 200 buildings across Chicago. You get to explore the architecture of buildings that you’ve always wanted to get into. For a full list of locations and open-house hours, visit http://openhousechicago.org/.

• Millennium Park & Maggie Daley Park
  Free admission, open daily from 6 a.m. – 11 p.m. – Millennium Park holds the famous “Bean” sculpture (Cloud Gate), but don’t forget to take a stroll through the gardens and view other artwork around the park. Starting November 13, you can rent a pair of ice skates and show off your skills while taking in the beautiful skyline at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. Maggie Daley Park also offers ice skating in their “Skating Ribbon.”  You can also check out their climbing wall, fieldhouse, gardens, and more. • Adler After Dark
  Thursday, November 19 & every third Thursday of the month from 6 – 10 p.m. –  The Adler Planetarium hosts a 21 and over evening that offers you open access to the museum, unlimited sky shows, and entertainment, with themes that change each month.   Chicago has so many museums! From art, to science, to history, and beyond, you will be sure to find something to spark your interest. Each museum has its own hours and admission rates, so research accordingly. • Christkindlmarket
  Friday, November 20 – Thursday, December 24, from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. – This free German-inspired outdoor market in Daley Plaza brings German and European traditions, food, beverages, and merchandise to Chicago. Visit http://www.christkindlmarket.com/ for vendor and pricing information.
