Robert C. Liden
Professor and Director of Doctoral Programs
College of Business Administration, University of Illinois Chicago
Dr. Liden’s research focuses on interpersonal processes as they relate to such topics as leadership, groups, career progression, and socialization. He teaches Research Methods, Leadership, and Human Resources Management in the doctoral program of the Liautaud Graduate School of Business.  He serves as the Director of Doctoral Programs for the College of Business. Dr. Liden serves on the editorial review boards of 6 top journals and is a former Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management.

Dr. Mark Shanley
Associate Dean, College of Business Administration, University of Illinois Chicago
Professor of Management
Professor Shanley is a PhD graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has been a professor for 26 years. His research interest is in Strategic Management, including Economics of Strategy, and New Venture Strategy. Professor Shanley has co-authored Economics of Strategy, which is in its 5th edition. This highly acclaimed text provides an economic lens for viewing the broad sweep of strategic activities of the firm.

Eric J. Michel
PhD student in HRM, University of Illinois at Chicago
Second year student
Prior to enrolling at UIC, Eric held faculty appointments at Bradley University and Christopher Newport University.  His research interests focus on three major domains within the field of organizational studies: leadership (LMX, strategic decision-making, leader adaptability/flexibility), the organizational culture-firm performance relationship (creativity, strategic orientation, market orientation), and research methods (multilevel analysis, construct measurement).  Eric has published research in the Journal of Managerial Issues and the Journal of Psychology and presented at numerous conferences.

Courtney Rae Masterson
PhD student in Management, University of Illinois (UIC)
Second year student
Prior to joining UIC’s PhD program, Courtney spent 10 years in marketing and communications, working with organizations to address issues related to corporate reputation, branding, and stakeholder engagement. During this time, she developed a deep curiosity for executive-level decision-making, ethical and unethical behavior, and the societal impact of businesses. Building upon these interests, Courtney currently draws upon theories of individual identity, organizational identity, and social exchange to examine critical issues of ethics and justice in organizations.
