Be Great During Spring Break!

Spring break is quickly approaching. How will you be spending your time off? Don’t be the person who snoozes through the entire break – be productive! Applications for summer internships will be closing soon and there’s no better time to apply than during this upcoming break.

Take the time out to update your resumes and talk them over with the Business Career Center staff. Set a goal to complete a particular number of applications per day. You can also be sure to update your LinkedIn profile; if you don’t have one, make one! LinkedIn is a great way to connect with people and, most of the time, it shows you the background information of people who may have your dream job.  To add, LinkedIn has pages for various companies that showcase the positions that they are hiring for with a description and required qualifications.

Not interested in applying for a job, internship, or grad school?  Partake in an event that is going to help your future. Find an organization that hosts volunteer events and helps out. Taking time out of your schedule to make a difference in a community or in the lives of others can allow you to network and meet new people. There are always networking events to attend. Why? Because you can ALWAYS network – in the elevator, at a restaurant, at the mall, or in the washroom (you never know). Perfect that elevator pitch and practice increasing your confidence.

Whatever you do, don’t let those 5 days of the week fly by. Be productive this spring break, make a difference, and do something that will help your future.
