IDS Professor Wins Top 2012 Globe Award

James Ho, professor of information and decision sciences in the College of Business Adminstration, was named Best Professor in Information Systems at the 2012 World Education Congress Global Awards.

The award recognizes excellence in education, leadership and teaching.

Ho works with international organizations, major corporations and small businesses in applying information technology in the workplace. He has presented executive seminars on e-commerce and online business strategies around the world, including France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Norway and Singapore.

Ho studies information and operations management, focusing on multilingual online communications, online auction markets, data mining and supply-chain management and governance.

He has written four books, including Cyber Tigers: How Companies in Asia Can Prosper from E-Commerce (Prentice Hall/Pearson Education Asia, 2000).

He shared the 2012 global award with Katalin Jackel, associate professor at Budapest Business School, Hungary.

The World Education Congress is a nonprofit institution that focuses on the culture of education, strategies for higher education institutes, and the latest education tools, technologies, and solutions.
