Why did you choose your current position?

It has always been my dream to work for a company like Ernst & Young where I would have the opportunity to work with high-profile clients across various industries including banking, asset management, and insurance. I love my new role and working with EY would add great value and experience to my career. Some of the reasons I chose EY were their inclusive environment, good job profile, and location.

Can you describe your new role?

I will be working with internal and external audit teams, risk functions, IT departments, and business units to monitor risk and controls. I will be providing assurance over business processes, IT general controls, and application controls.

How did you obtain your current position?

I had two rounds of phone interviews and three onsite interviews. One of them was a case interview. Beforehand, I practiced my interviews with Justin Lall from the Business Career Center, which helped a lot when I went for my onsite interviews at Ernst & Young.

What advice do you have for students currently searching for internships or full-time positions?

I feel it is very important to build a good professional network and collaborate with people who have similar interests. I would advise students to look out for opportunities that would develop strong networking skills and to utilize the resources provided by UIC like the Business Career Center services.
