Aspiring to Inspire

After countless times of thinking and re-thinking about what I wanted to do in life, I can now say that I have come across something that I really enjoy doing.

During my high school years, I often compared myself to those around me, and I was constantly looking for someone to look up to, someone who I could call my hero. Little did I know that what I was yearning for in the first place was within me all along.

I always thought that there was just something so fascinating about expressing one’s feelings and inspiring others through writing. I am sure that my goals in life are bound to change as I grow older, but I know that my interest in inspirational writing will always remain.

There are two things I want to achieve in life. The first is to inspire people, and the second is to have no regrets when doing so. My mother would always say to me that the best success in life is when you help those who cannot help you in any way, and that is to encourage them to follow their dreams. By envisioning this goal, I have found what my heart truly desires. At this point, I am thinking about what  stories I would like to look back at, and what kind of memories I would like to create, so that once I graduate from UIC I can be happy by simply reminiscing my experiences when I go back to re-read my blog posts.

Writing makes me unique, and after realizing this I can finally say to everyone that this is who I am. This is what I want to do. This is how I will express myself, and hopefully inspire others. In the near future, I will be blogging about my experiences, and when that day approaches I can see myself reading my posts over and over again.

One thing that I always like to keep in mind is to be myself. A famous writer, Ralph Waldo Emerson, once said, "to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment" you can achieve.
