MBAA and Net Impact: Lincoln Park Community Shelter – Round Two!

For the second week in a row, a UIC Liautaud Community Action Team visited the Lincoln Park Community Shelter (LPCS) to prepare and serve a hot lunch for its residents.  This week, the group comprised of Net Impact and MBAA members. LPCS is located at 600 W. Between Dreams and Disaster - A Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Panel

MBA Association: the UIC Liautaud Fall Midterm Social

Net Impact attends the Innovating Social Change Conference

INFORMS: Bowling Outing

The Liautaud Chapter of INFORMS organized a social bowling event for all the INFORMS students and alumni at Student Center East on Friday, September 30, 2011.  The event started off with hot and steaming pizzas, chocolate cookies, and ice cold beverages.  It was a great way to really prep the students for all the games!As the closk struck 7:00pm, the last five lanes of the bowling center were occupied by the students; and everyone got geared up in their favorite bowling shoes.  Each lane had 7... read more

MBA Association: The Night Ministry

Net Impact: Uncommon Ground Restaurant Visit

UIC Liautaud Net Impact student organization had their first event of the Fall 2011 semester on Sunday, September 25 at Uncommon Ground’s Edgewater location.  The event began with breakfast at 10am in the morning, followed by a tour of their organic roof top farm at 11am. Uncommon Ground is host to the nation's first certified organic rooftop farm.  Each year they grow a diverse assortment of annual vegetables and herbs.  Everything they grow on the roof ends up on their menu. AIDS Walk/Run with the MBAA & OFB

On Saturday, October 1, 2011 a team from UIC Liautaud joined UIC's HIV/AIDS Community Clinic Network (UIC-HCCN) and other UIC students in participating in Chicago's annual AIDS Walk/Run, held in Grant Park. Participants either walked or ran 5k or 10k, while raising money that goes directly to the UIC-HCCN's seven area community clinics. The clinics provide essential treatment and prevention services to anyone in the Chicagoland area, regardless of ability to pay.The day was slightly cool, but... read more
